"frictionless" mouse... really?

There's a guy on esreality promoting his latest invention, the so called frictionless gaming mouse.

His marketing skills are terrific, albeit a bit aggressive and insulting to potential customers.
There's a lot of tech-savvy users here and I just wanted to share this gem with you.
Disregarding his obnoxious comments, do you see yourself ever using this device and do you think it actually works?

And here's the bit more cohesive indiegogo campaign.

I'm currently living in Argentina I talked to him and he is an *******. But I don't see him as scammer.

But what is the point ? IMO no friction would only be good for a freak of nature that somehow can control superhighsense like lowsense. He would need such a thing, but any other gamer wouldn't smile.gif

What a terrible idea. Paper mouse pads that must be changed every week? Ridiculous.

Before he was trying to sell them for 450$ saying that he didn't make any profit. Now he appearently is trying to sell them for 130$ so I guess he is losing 320$ every time he sells one.

The thing is, I have already tried frictionless for a much lower price and it was impossible to control and worthless for gaming imo.

That looks awesome! If you turn the sensitivity way down I bet it wouldn't be so bad to control with some practice. Regardless, that guy has some serious engineering skills for being primarily self-taught.

I wonder how much it weighs. I love my heavy R.A.T. 5.

According to the creator, the mass increases for 24 grams.
But having no friction means weigh is irrelevant [citation needed]

What's stupid is regardless of what he says it's not frictionless. When he can get a mile-long stretch of paper and throw the mouse across it then it's frictionless.
So it's $130 for less friction. (which I don't think I'd even want)

If he genuinely spent $30,000 and is charging $130 for the finished product it should basically be a real version of this.

Edit: Actually less static friction might be nice but for $130 plus a mouse I already paid for that's a bit more than I'd pay.
