Another amd card with issues(5870 for me) what should I upgrade it with? Strong bias for nvidia ones...

Hello guys, I've been a bit desperate and I'm looking for some expert help, this is my issue:

I'm having a huge number of issues with my old 5870 ati, generally speaking on most of the older games(wow for example) it goes mostly fine even at max settings, I play at 1920x1080 fullhd screen, and just upgraded a year ago my whole pc.

these are the specs before I go on:

cpu: CPU Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz Socket 1155 95W con GPU Sandy Bridge Boxed BX80623I72600K occata a 4.2ghz has a noctua cooler which is huge ass and blocks even some ram slot iirc, and occed to 4.2ghz
motherboard: Asus Maximus IV Extreme Rev3.0 Socket 1155 Intel P67 DDR3 SATA3 USB3 ATX
gpu: ati radeon hd 5870 standard clocks, I don't exactly love to overclock unless it's easy
ram: DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws-X F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD 2133MHz 8GB (2x4GB) CL9
psu: CORSAIR 620W CMPSU-620HXEU
hd: some random old hdd 7400rpm, didn't change to ssd still due to laziness...Also I tend to use more than 250gb of space.. and bigger ssd's do cost
screen: IIyama 24" ProLite E2407HDS-1 1920x1080 full hd
case Antec Twelve Hundred (just for the spacing issues, 29.5cm is kinda harsh to fit in terms of gfx cards)
os: win7 64 bit fully patched and generally working.

now my issue is this, I tend to play for passion/job a lot of games, I have more than 170 steam games and a lot more, so I'm generally looking for something that doesnt' have excessive issues and I can't just justify ati anymore...My first ati card after my 8800gt fried, didn't work for most of my games, changed later for a 4850(or 4870 I tend to mix numbers apologizes) which i had to rma 3 times to get to work. After that I built this new pc and got this 5870 which is 1 year old and well...most of my games have driver issues or generally ati-related issues, so I'm tempted to go and buy a nvidia card just to stop this madness.

few examples?

wow has random 25 fps spikes, payday the heist had a known mouse bug that made it move to a crawl due to ati cards(seems fixed but not sure), the witcher2/skyrim/borderlands 2, good luck playing any of these beyond low.tw2 and skyrim somehow go up to medium settings but sub 20 fps and with heavy stuttering.Just bought torchlight 2 tonight, heavy flickering with my 5870.Any source game will cause a bsod/driver crash/mouse getting jerky randomly when used.Might take hours but it WILL eventually make it happen.Gw2 good luck playing it at low settings if it even works with that.

Now if it were just a common thing for all my games I'd rma it or just feel it's broken, but the other half of my gaming library works a charm with the card. Also do note that I bought it with a friend, he got it on antoher shop, and he has mostly the same issues as me, so we kinda believe it's either bad amd drivers or just something fishy.

Now I can't rma for weeks/months the video card so I'll just buy another one and see if this one gets fixed for another pc or to resell it, but I'm wary of the amd cards, I understand that with overclock a 7970 or 7950 is better but....just by searching random issues with the games I like I just find a huge load of people whining that latest drivers are just bad, and generally it's not inviting for a potential buyer.

I was considering getting a 670 gtx but I'm being told it's not worth it, unless I do love physx and I trust nvidia drivers better(which I highly do, all my old geforce cards NEVER had an issue, the only one that broke it was the psu fault...) would you say that with my strong idea of not buying ati anymore I should go for that card or should I reconsider? Bear in mind I don't overclock, I'm quite lazy, and I do believe the issue resides in ati products/drivers since I never had a single good experience with them, but I'm kinda open to new ideas....Do consider that I also hate the ati bugs strongly...I had for months the 150/300 clocks bug when windowed(fullscreen) on games, and I can't still have any website/youtube when I play or my clocks plummet to either 400/900 or 150/300 and get stuck there, so anything that doesn't have that **** is better than anything...

The main thing is that I'm tired of being told I have a super pc and run game on **** graphics and medium settings at 1920x1080 when people are bragigng that their 5870 runs max payne 1920x1080 at full settings when mine can barely load it at the lowest.

Heck, when I bought my i7 people told me I wouldn't even use all of its power and yet, I can barely use any game with decent fps, so it wasn't a fault of my cpu in the end...(I was being told that my gpu card was too awesome and the cpu was bottlenecking it...truth was the card sucked and had to be changed, but whatver)

budget is kinda medium, I'd love to not go 400+€ since in italy prices aren't the best, and I don't trust rmaing at the worst case accros europe as I had to do with steelseries products, so yeah, I can't just buy a 680...Also I don't trust sli/crossfirex due to microstutter and general issues people I know had...

What' would you suggest me?

If you don't make it happen with this card it won't happen with a new card.first check window .set wcs to srgb, relative colorimetry,if you still a bit slow set gpu to rgb 4.2.2 if you need more without lowering quality .you could go 1080i.(you LL get a bit of blurriness.but nothing major.its caused by the wcs .till ms fix it nothing can be done

I'm sorry I tried to understand what you said, but it makes no sense to me whatsoever... I don't get anything of wcs srgb or whatever

I guess it's some settings somewhere but I can't follow you on that D:

given that you are leaning towards Nvidia go for whatever best Nvidia single gpu you can get within your budget. good luck.
