Dont blame you for not pre-ordering EA games but have you seen the videos?

Yeah I have, I was going to make a list but a post on reddit summed it up for me:

"Cities are limited to roughly 2 square kilometers. This is about the same size as a "Medium" city in SimCity 4.
No confirmation on "modding" or what modding entails other than it might be in the game based on an article from March.
There is no terraforming.
Buildings zoning density is determined by the size of the road the zone is placed adjacent to. There are no more "low", "medium," and "high" zoning types.
Regions feature lots of "empty" space between cities, which at this time are big grassy plains. There are auto-generated highways that run between the cities that you cannot control.
You have to work with other players to build "wonders" in the empty spaces between cities, such as international airports.
Tilt-shift mode. (I kind of like it.)
Buildings situated along curved roads are not "wall-to-wall". Buildings are not dynamically shaped, leaving some dead-space between buildings. Right now that dead-space is all patchy grass, but fans are hoping there is a Cities XL-style system to plop in plazas, parking lots, etc. Maxis has said they are working on this concern."

With all the small annoying things its kinda like two steps forward and a leap back for me, it really annoys me as I actually like the idea of using the cloud system as a base for MP...Like, have a region SC4 style but have it so you can let Origin friends join your game and pick plots, so I could (for example) play with two friends, I do a clean industrial city, one does a dirty industrial city and the other focuses on having a city that gets lots of resources for the other two.

If they release a final version demo for this.. .I'll dl it and see how it goes. From all that I've heard, this is exciting, but I share in the sentiments of Brutuz here. There's just too much that I don't really like being done. Demo aside, i'll wait for release and surf YT for a few weeks looking at videos and reviews with all the pos/neg people find. If I decide to buy, I'll likely wait for a coupon/sale since I refuse to pay $60 for a game anymore... last 3 games I paid full price, horrible replay value and NOT worth $60. I have games I paid $20 for years back... STILL fun.

GMG has it on for $49.99, cheaper than EA by $10

still have to install origin. I refuse to use any other library client because having more than one defeats the purpose of having one simple library. the only exception is GOG because they require no client and have no DRM.

you have much to learn of the horrors and atrocities BRINK is a good game compared to some of the crap that has been pumped out in the last several years.

Well I suppose I can go through each of those standpoints individually with my opinions.

-Sad that it is limited to "medium" but I barely played SC4 so I'm not even sure how big that is.
-Modding would be nice but the lack of it doesn't bother me. The game itself should have enough variety.
-Don't know what terraforming is.
-Makes at least a little sense that the zoning density is based on the size of the road. Larger roads accommodate denser zones.
-Sad about the empty space and highways you cannot control.
-Hope there are ways to build "wonders" without the aid of other players, is there true single player which allows this?
-Don't know what tilt-shift mode is.
-Maxis is working on this concern.

Wonder if they are leaving some things out on purpose to make room for an expansion.
