Low M4 64GB score? (AS SSD)

I've been looking around, and it seems my M4 64GB score is relatively low in comparison to other M4 64GB SSDs. It's updated to the latest firmware (10G I believe) and I have it connected to my Intel SATA 6Gb/s port. I also have Intel Rapid Storage Technology installed, and AHCI mode is enabled. Could it be that my SSD is going bad?

How full is it? Anything more than 80% full results in slower performance with any SSD. This is common with all SSDs of small size (or all sizes but not sure) and is only noticed in benchmarks.

Nope, my 64GB M4 doesn't slow down in AS SSD even when it is 90% full.

It is actually an issue with the firmware of the drive which throttles it a little and drops higher queue depth speeds, past 8 or something around there, randomly for some reason. That is why the 64-thrd reads are half of what they should be and why the bench overall score is lower.

Here's mine for the same drive.

This is what normal scores are like:

900x900px-LL-cb802310_as-ssd-benchM4-CT064M4SSD211.5.201112-53-44AM.png

Well actually 4k could be better but I had the power saving features on my board enabled and had no CPU load during the bench so they are lower.

Really? My apologies for giving wrong info (I swear I read it @ Guru3d or TomsHardware), but my score in HDtune (4k IO) dropped like a stone after filling the drive with 200Gig of data. It feels as fast as when it was new though so no real issue. But good to know.....time to move some games from the HDD thumb.gif

It depends on the workload. AS SSD is nothing really.

My SSD is only about 63% full. I only have my OS, a single game, and a few apps on it too (Firefox, iTunes, Fraps, etc). So it's not bogged down with a bunch of bloatware or anything.
