Caution with the hard drive, you must partition it before installing the operating system, otherwise the information within it unusable.

I have that same motherboard, and while it's a decent one, there's an issue with it.

The motherboard is mounted on only 6 screws. the screws are positioned such that whenever you apply even a small amount of pressure to the right side of the board (IE, when installing ram or inserting the atx power connector), there is a significant amount of flex on that side of the board. I'm no expert, but bending or flexing a motherboard is a sureshot way to ruin it.

Of course, you could always lift the board out and then install the ram or insert the atx connector, and then re seat the board. this is what I do.

The only other thing I would suggest is going with the phantom 410d like the others have suggested. This is also something I have, and it's a great case.

Just gaming?nha!the main reason we need CPU is because of stupid window color system,ya its so hard core even Intel CPU can barely keep up.sadly wcs is always in the way, don't know if amd color replace wcs or if it only does the same crap via CPU also?its worth investigating ,why?wcs is the main reason we use a powerful CPU.otherwise a first Gen iPad CPU would do!

Not positive, but I think that RAM you picked is 1.65V. You want to get 1.5V RAM instead. Maybe this G.Skill kit, which is the same price:

A very big thank you to all who`ve replyed and reviewed my build.
You have all definitely helped assure my gf that i have a clue (even if i dont lol).
I cant build this without her support/go ahead (read-i probably could but it`s REALLY hard concentrate while being bashed over head with frying pan lmao)

@Junkboy- Thank you very much. I going need all help i can get before this is finished i think. I`ve changed the case, the ram isnt on pccasegear site, but i`ve heard it recomended so many times on here i`ll deff. look for it come purchase time. Audio wise i plan on using headphones (still researching which) but deff. not audiophile by any means...onboard should work ok?

@Raghu78- that case was amoung the 1st i showed gf an every one since has been `yeah but i like that other one better`. While i like the look of big cases, after ur coment i got the tape out-quite a bit bigger than i thought...lol. ps-bragging rights im after at this stage-`i built it, it works!!` (if it looks half decent and is fast well thats just bonous points-along with overclocking). In saying that im not against a bit of `just because it looks good` as long as not wasting excessive $$
The ssd-128gb -$99...256gb-$209? I`ll keeo in mind when buying and if can find for less than twice the price for double the size then ill go for it.

@Del Boy- watercooling fasinates me lol...i just didnt think it nessesary at this stage...using a h100 is VERY tempting, so pls dont twist my arm to much lmao (see below this may change)

@EternallyDead + @xnuw- not buying in U.S. but ill be shopping around over next few weeks get best prices as finalise list...

@Charlie97- while to go before we get there mate but still thanks..

@Obtuse Walrus- (love the name) Thanks for the advice-i`ll be being extremely carefull belive me...(i`ll never live it down if i stuff up lol)

@Drbaltaser- idont understand? are u saying to look into AMD? I dont want iANYTHING...lol...i looked at iphones while ago an brought a galaxy s2...lol

@Forceman- Going with that ram simply cause its at pccasegear. but it`ll be toss up between that an samsung at buying time

@Paowidefw- if i can find that or similar card at that sorta price at the time over here i`ll be all over it like the good old fat kid on the cake...

sorry for the long post, but as im asking for YOUR help i feel it would be rude not to respond to each person.
Thank you all very much again. the more im learning the more im getting really into this, so the more im reading and learning...

No worries, and yeah since it's your very first build you don't have to get a sound card yet, you should be fine with on board until you settle on something later. thumb.gif

Oh, and don't feel like you have to spend too much on headphones, you'll get tons of recommendations but if you can go to a store and try some out that would be best.

The `problem` i have is that now that the gf is gaining intrest an confidence in the idea of me building a comp. she`s doing a lot more reading and research herself.
Things like watercooling (which i`ve talked myself out of for now), black/red themed builds (she loves red anything) cable sleeving wire managment etc...
Its very hard to resist temptation when she says it only this much more if we get this mobo or y dont we watercool...
The budget is flexabile enuff (self imposed at 1500 mainly to gain her aproval) so can be adjusted some...
I havent really been looking at colour themed build...
Any suggestions on mobo etc for a black/red theme, without going over top price wise? (asrock fatalty mby?)
This also opens up case options more-(before it was no i like that phantom one)...?
As i dont know how to sleeve what would be easier-modular power or just use extensions? does this change any of ur recomanditions for the psu...?
I like the idea of a black/red theme myself, and if i can build something that not only works but looks good to well then i can be even prouder of mysekf at the end lol...so didnt require much talking into that idea-as kong as dosent add large amounts to price...
thanks again

The Antec HCG line of PSU has a nice red/black theme , for the Mobo red/black your choices really go down to the fatality series of some of the more expensive ASUS boards.

Sleeving is fairly simple and can be done with a hair dryier if need be, you just need a decent sleeving kit, yo can also get spereate parts and get different colours for different things and let her have more fun doing it for you. tongue.gif

Also tell her if anything goes wrong with the WC she'll have to let you build a second rig and anything happens. tongue.gif

*edit* quick video on sleeving to show how simple it is.
