After getting loads of projects, I'm not getting any. Is there a setting somewhere that I may of changed to get that?

From the advanced view of the Boinc client, you could try and set the "minimum work buffer" and "max additional work buffer" to 2 days or more. That should ensure you get a stack of work units downloaded. You can find that from "tools" / "Computer preferences" / "Network Usage".
You could also click on the "Activity" tab and make sure it;s set to "Network activity is always available"
Edit to add, also in advanced view - click on the projects tab and check to see if you've suspended any projects by mistake

I tried that and it grabbed a whole load of Yoyo@home WU's which is a start but all the other projects I have havent downloaded new WU's.

Under the projects tab in advanced view, have you maybe set them to 'no new tasks'? If they're all set to accept new tasks, I'd try manually clicking on update every now and again.
You could also click on the advanced tab and open the event log and see if there are any errors after clicking update.

when it doesnt request more its because of 1 of 2 things.
1.) you already have so much work it wont request more in fear of you wont be able to get them done before the deadline for the wu's.
2.) you have the project set to "no new tasks"
