switching from modular to non modular

So I got a new case that came with a non modular power supply that had more watts that my modular one. Well I install my mobo and everything, and now I get no picture when I start my system up. All the fans spin and everything is wired . I've tried multiple dvis on my graphics card and monitors but nothing works so I was wondering if when I switched PSU that something messed up

The power supply may just be a junker.  It's never a good idea to trust a PSU that comes with a case.

Which modular PSU do you have?

Which case do you have that came with a PSU?

Can you provide the complete specifications of your system, especially which case you bought?  I'm still wondering.

To the second quote that's the name of the new power supply and to the antec I'll have to check the "actual name". And the case I also have to check

That might be taking it a bit far don't you think?

My Antec NSK2480 case came with an Antec EA-380D 80+ Bronze PSU that is on the OCN recommended PSU list.

Did you remember to plug any PCIe power plugs into the graphics card??? I forgot to do this once after changing pcie slots and actually runined the Graphic card...hoping this isnt what happened.

this?

case /w psu

mmh yah psu's only being described as 500W never good tongue.gif

Cons: PSU sucked. It worked fine until one of the fan blades melted and ruined it, along with my graphics card and probably my motherboard. I tried calling Radmax with no response, and I'm rather angry about the situation. I put time and money into my build and the bad PSU may have ruined it. I'm sure it's just faulty and not all of the PSU's have this issue, but I expect to at least be reimbursed for the components that it ruined. I'd gladly change my review if I would actually get a response from raidmax, either on the phone or on this review but for now I'm pretty mad.

The power supply puts out alot of heat when using with a Radeon 6850 graphics card which according to it's specs should support it just fine
Quote:
Other Thoughts: PSU can not run GEFORCE 560TI GPU
Quote:
Cons: Connected everything up to this case and it .....didn't work....took all the components out and put back in my old case and it all works soo..you tell me

seems like a 50/50 on whether the PSU puts out enough juice, or any at all.

Holy heck man, thats a 250watt psu labeled as a 500 watt psu. If you zoom in on the pictures, it shows 22amps on the +12 volt rail which = only 264 watts. Its no good at all. Hopefully you didnt kill your system having it plugged in for that short amount of time.

Let us know what its doing now that you have the modular PSU plugged in.
