Why bother with gadgets when Rainmeter exists?

The more I think about it, the more I think I should get it for my parents and a touchscreen monitor.... might be a good setup for my computer illiterate parents, lol.

I am downloading a 2.6GB file, is that x64 or x86?

Not switching at this time for pretty much all of the reasonable reasons others are not switching. Frankly, I'm perfectly happy with Win7 and have it how I like. I stayed with XP until 6 months after 7 came out... I'll stay with 7 until 6 months after windows 10 comes out lol.

Where from? My DL is 3.5GB x64 version.

Heck no I am not switching. Why in the world would I? Win 7 works great for me.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I used the Update Assistant, paid for the OS and it started downloading, although I am not sure if it's x64 or x86. I am guessing x86 since the release preview x64 was around 3.5GB...

So how do I get x64?

EDIT: never mind, it seems I have x64.

I am. Ive been reading alot about Windows 8, havent actually tried it myself. I just upgraded to the Digital Pro edition this morning. Should be installing right now at my house.

I heard there were some compatibility issues with games in a previous versions and those were fixed, dont remember source but it was from a user posting on this site in another W8 thread.

Im excited about W8, I know alot of people arent liking it because it doesnt have this one option here or there or there is less you can do as an admin. Im willing to switch over, play around with it and watch it change over the coming months/years.

Not too mention i like the look of the Tile UI.

I was using vista until yesterday.
I'm intending to use windows 7 to ride out the windows 8 or maybe even 9 storm.
If this silly tablet crap continues I'll swap over to linux even if it means I get less performance because of wine.

Overclock.net's theme wasn't broke. They "fixed" it by implementing this one.
Phones weren't broke in the old days. People fixed it and turned them into "smartphones."

Your logic makes no sense.

Creativity leads to innovation and money. Not sitting on your butt producing the same software and never releasing a sequel. Microsoft is a business, it's what businesses do, they keep moving forward and that strikes with a risk--a failure or a success.
