No. Windows 8 is going to be a massive failure that's going to make Microsoft long for the days of a launch as successful as Vista(, hey you asked why). Coupled with Valves decision to embrace OS agnosticism I think that in the next five year Debian linux distros(especially Ubuntu) may actually work as gaming platforms.

I found Win 8 on an SSD to be super fast but the UI was the slow part so meny clicks to do anything and no option to make the desktop mode default so will not be buying a copy the RT was nice and speedie but at the moment I'm more than happy with Windows 7 even if it is a little bit slower.
