I installed it on a couple of my systems (gaming & workstation) and have no complaints so far.
Other than the odd "Start Screen" everything has been running more hassle free than win7 ever did.
(both Origin and Steam running solid even standalone titles such as D3, SC2, & GW2)

I'm just going to bookmark this thread, and come back in a couple of years to see who's still using win7 wink.gif

I changed my motherboard today. It was scary because I had an OEM Sys builder copy of W7, which locked itself to my GB mobo. Windows 8 caught on and realized what I had done.

So it installed all the drivers I'd need during boot and preserved my activation.

ETA: I love the way it syncs all ym application settings across my i5 tab and my desktop too. Really helps with scheduling school stuff.

Been using WIn8 on my desktop gaming rig and my touchscreen ultrabook for over a month. I can honestly say that I really like the OS. Not a single crash and all of my old programs/peripherals work perfectly fine with it. I actually enjoy Metro because it looks so damn nice compared to the old start menu. I love booting up near instantly because of my SSD and I see literally no reason to go back to Win 7 because 8 really is just 7 with improvements to everything. The only gripe I have with 8 is that company of heroes doesn't work for some reason, but whatever. Every other game runs fine.

Foolish not to buy it at $15 if win 8 is ever a thought, but that's great you don't like 8 considering it's the same thing with a few faster tweaks and a *NEW* interface that you don't even have to use. And just because it's friendly for touch screen doesn't mean "it shouldn't be on a pc"! It's called accessibility and 1 os for all your pc and tablet devices. Ya know SEAMLESS technology, say it isn't so!
I enjoy it, you don't...who cares? It was my $15 and you would be surprised at the amount of people who aren't on legitimate win 7, and for $15 for win 8 to be on something legitimate is hell of a deal. It's not like win 7 was/is $15

I don't have a problem. Simply pointing out my point of view in the thread. You quoted me calling me crazy....

get out of here with your crazy talk. It works FINE with mouse and keyboard and you don't even have to use metro interface.

The price is different in any region guiltysmiley.gif In my country "the upgrade" is between 80$-100$ and the full version is between 170$ - 200$ wink.gif
I own Windows 8 Enterprise and yes it works very well with mouse & keyboard & i also like the metro ui interface thumb.gif

because you're screaming it isn't made for a desktop computer....negating all of the seamless benefits it brings to all devices. It works with EVERY input method now. Because you don't like touchscreen who are you to ridicule the entire os because of a front interface you don't even have to use and insult others for using the "new" os and telling them how to spend their money. Keep your win 7, for those of us who prefer something new in windows and not the same basic thing since windows 95 that has been made prettier over last 17 years...let us have and enjoy it whether we got touchscreen or not... it ain't like you can't point and click rolleyes.gif

Nah, pro gamers stream a lot.. streaming is sluggish in windows 8. There are currently no solutions for xsplit Or ffsplit for this problem. And if u use 7xxx radeons thn with the new 12.11 drivers windows 7 benchmarks are better. Also the faildozer has yet to see any major improvements with 8 lol. To me it doesn't really promote professionalism at all just more user friendly. Doing things from a classic windows stand point will ruin your experience with 8. To me, it is a revitalized version of 7, but nothing you can't achieve with a few Ui mods.

I never insulted anyone. I also like touch screen. I also said the OS work's fine HOWEVER on the subject of upgrading from win7 to win8. NO.

If you like you, sweet. More power to you and glad you like it. On the other hand there are many many people who, like myself feel that windows 8 is a side-grade at best for their desktop PC. This is due mostly to the fact that Windows 7 is a everything we need(and then some in most case's).

I'm not saying windows 8 is "Bad" but when asked about upgrading from win7 then I think it's a bad move. Not flaming anyone who chose's to use it, nor have I.

Also, I have not screamed anything at anyone.. Lastly windows 8 isn't just a desktop OS. It was designed to be a multi-platform OS solution. I personally would prefer it on a tablet or phone. Not my desktop PC.
