MCP-350 turning off randomly

Thread Starter
My entire PC specs are in this link:

http://www.pakgamers.com/forums/f139/republic-gamers-147272/

Well I was running two rads (360 & 240), one cpu and gpu on this pump but last week it just couldn't put up with it. So now I removed the 240 and now it working fine again.

But everyday it just happens to stop out of no where. Then I gotta reboot it again a few times just to make it run. I have a feeling that it's because of less power going to the pump through the chassis fan header (although controllable). I usually keep it as 80% power.

Well I wanna run both my rads without this going on, so I was thinking to just sell this off and get a 655 controllable pump.

Any suggestions?

Btw, is there a chance that I have a faulty pump?

It's like first it ran perfectly fine with two rads. Now just 1 rad and still its turning off. It makes a screeching sound before it turns off and even just like that while running.

From what I can see, your MB Fan headers are rated for 1 Amp. Your pump is probably pushing the limit a lot. That could be a factor. Try with it running direct from a power lead with an adapter.

The MCP350 can be a tricky pump. I couldn't run mine below 10 V without it shutting off. Your pump probably is not getting enough voltage from the motherboard fan header to run.

You will need to get a proper pump controller that can handle the higher load of the pump.

Yea I was also thinking to once use it directly from the supply and see if it turns off then. Although, the screeching sound still means that the pump is dieing, which isn't a good sign.
