Opinions, please?

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my rig and I wanted your opinions. I plan on upgrading my motherboard and CPU. Presently, my rig has a EP45-UD3R Gigabyte motherboard and a Q8400 Intel Quad Core. I've had this rig for two-three years now, and I think it's getting a little outdated. I've been looking at the ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 and the Intel Core i5-2500K. Any opinions, anybody? Thanks.

If your running everything fine but just want a little boost I suggest getting a SSD and waiting for Haswell next year. Even if you where to get a 2500k that's still last gen (I'm not saying it's bad but Haswell is around the corner.) Still if you where to not get a SSD and just wait for Haswell you might have a bit more cash to spend next year.

Well, for $400 you can get a 3570K, a Z77 board (like the Asrock Z77 Extreme4) and 8GB of DDR3-1600. No point buying a last-gen 2500K and P67 board.

I didn't even think about this, and good things do come to people who wait. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I'm gonna wait for Haswell next year.
