Compared to the slew of rehashed games, today, it really isn't anything super special. The fact it came out over 15 years ago, is what makes it special. This was a mind blower for those of us who cut our teeth on the original NES titles.

You must be young. This was one of the first 3D platformer games. It literally changed the platform genre. It was the originator; it only seems generic because everyone else has copied it/used elements from it. Heck the N64 introduced the world to the analog stick with this game.

Derp? It was released in like 96? Graphics are definitely meh compared to today's standards. It was a game a lot of us grew up on, it was the last semi-oldstyle Mario game if you ask me (I haven't enjoyed any of them nearly as much since SM64), it's nostalgia.

You're detracting from our critical thinking rating! Stahp!

I still remember the night my mom helped me hook up my N64 to her then huge 40inch Toshiba tv. This was the first game I played and I was literally blown away. I spent A LOT of time just playing with Marios face with the analog stick in the start menu. I remember how bright and vibrant the colors were compared to my Sega Genesis. Those were the DAYS man!!!thumb.gif

I may only be 15 years old, but Super Mario 64 is by far my most played game of all time. I was very fortunate to have older siblings that were a few years older than me, as without them, I doubt I would've ever been introduced to the best thing ever made; the N64 biggrin.gif

Its already possible with a emulator running the online client. I don't recall what one it is but there are always people playing popular games like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, etc.

Its a lobby type thing as well so its easy to find games.

What's wrong with that? New Super Mario Bros Wii has same screen co-op.
It works great.

Difference is, this is a 3D game, won't work as well.
