I'm using an old bamboo fun and I've been itching to get a new one. I've been looking at the monoprice tablets since they're cheap and seem to have good specs. I hear they're good but I've never used them, anyone care to vouch for them? I've also been looking around to find a cheap Intuos but I don't want to break 200 dollars. I'm only interested in medium sized tablets btw.

How are Intuos 3s compared to 4 and 5s? And issues with photoshop or Paint tool SAI? I've heard some reviews for the monoprice tablets saying that the tablet won't recognize two monitors (which I have).

So apparently the Intuos 3 only has 1024 level of pressure and not-so-spectacular resolution. I think I might get one of the monoprice tablets at this rate. Maybe the Bamboo create though I don't see anything special about it, especially not the silver color.

Hmm i had not heard of those issues. For the level of pressure it really doesn't matter that much. From an intuos 3 to an intuos 4, i barely can see a difference. Bamboo create is a good choice. ID say if wyou get any wacom tablet of a reasonable size, you won't be disappointed.

Anyone ever try this tablet?
http://dx.com/p/huion-usb-graphics-drawing-tablet-w-stylus-black-8-x-5-118085
I think it's from the same OEM who makes the monoprice tablets. 2048 levels of pressure and high resolution. Technically it sounds amazing, on par with intuos.

I posted this on Gfaqs:
I just got my new tablet in the mail this morning. It's the Huion H610 and the thing is great. Technically it's almost on par with the Wacom Intuos tablets, 4080 LPI (lines per inch), 2048 levels of pressure, 220 rps (aka pps), several hotkeys and soft keys, etc. Working space is about 9.5 to 5.5 but it can go up to 10x6 if you don't use the soft keys. Paid about 70 after shipping and it blows my old ass Bamboo Fun away. The working space is nice and big for those who like it but you can also control how much of the area is detected by the tablet; the pressure sensitivity is very nice and fluid, it responds much better than the bamboo, especially at low pressure contact; the high LPI isn't really something that is highly noticeable but the lines are as smooth/clean as the Bamboo Fun if not more so, so take it as you will.
The driver install gave me a bit of a problem, probably due to conflicts with the Bamboo drivers but this tablet is excellent for what I paid. The only other thing is that the pen uses a single triple A battery so it's a little fatter and heavier than the equivalent Wacom stylus which works passively (no battery required). I guess another thing is that it's pretty big, but that's what you get for 10x6 + physical hotkeys. If any of you guys are looking for a tablet I say try Huion, they have other tablets that are a bit cheaper and one or two higher end models than this. If I run into any problems in the future I'll be sure to tell you.
tl;dr, the tablet is great.

I've been looking for a tablet for quite some time! I'm loving the review and I'll definitely try to get my hands on one!

I think the smaller Cintiqs might get outclassed by upcoming Windows 8 slate/tablets if the thickness of the glass doesn't become a problem on tablets.
