Need Help With How to Connect My Fans

Thread Starter
This is my first big build and I've never had this many fans on a case before. How do I connect them all?? I will have at least 7 fans on my case, and my mobo, an P8Z77-V, has only 3 chassis fan connectors and 1 optional fan connector... do I convert the rest of them to molex? Or do I need a fan controller? I don't want to put a fan controller on my rig cause 3 of the 4 front bays already have stuff and using the fourth will make the front way too crowded and will interfere with the look I want for my mod.

well there is multipal ways to solve this
1 get a fan controller (makes fans less noise)
2 put them on a molex ( runs fans full speed could get noisy)
3 they make pci fan controllers
4 they make fan hubs 1 molex can power like 7 fans

Do you have enough headers?
If no: Do most of the fans come with molex adapters?
If yes/no: You may want a fan controller if you want to control the speed of the fans as a molex adapter would have them at 100% or at least near it.

Mount your fan controller in the bay towards the inside of the case. I did it with my define r4 when the case wouldn't fit the fan controller on the outside. I'll shoot a picture of it sometime tomorrow if I remember.

You could also find a fan controller that fits where a PCI card would come out of the case. They are somewhat limited though. Here's an example:

Cool! It never occurred me to do that... Love the Jack Skellington, btw biggrin.gif

And thanks everyone for the help, I'm just starting my build, so I haven't decided yet how I'm going to address the issue, I guess it'll depend on how much space I'll have and how everything else looks thumb.gif
