New PSU, Installation Questions!

Thread Starter
Hey everyone, be warned, this question probably deserves to be in the top 10 lamest questions ever, but I just finished installing my new PSU and I had a few questions. (Mainly PCI-E related) But anyways, the question at hand is that the PCI-E connectors on this power-supply are un-like any I've handled before and quite frankly I didn't know what to do with them. I'll post pictures below and explain:

This is a semi-modular PSU so it only came with one PCI-E cable hardwired and it looks like this. Now, why are there two 6+2-Pin connections and not just one...?

Do I use both of them like this? Can I even use both of them off the same cable at the same time I.e. in a xFire or SLI config.? (P.S. - I don't have the rig running like this I used up a modular slot and added another 6+2-Pin cable that looks exactly like the one above)

And this is how I have the rig running right now.

Sorry for asking such an what I assume to be easy question, but this has me genuinely stumped. redface.gif

So you're saying that I can use both of the 6-Pins off of the same cord and be perfectly fine? As in picture #2.

Yes, it takes two 6-pins. It's pretty power hungry, especially at the clocks I have it running at! wink.gif
