High DPC Latency with GTX 690

Not too long ago, I got a GTX 690 and it has been working great.

However, I noticed that I have a somewhat absurdly high DPC latency, at least compared to before.

My DPC Latency was usually around 80us at most, but now it averages around 700us.

I have narrowed it down to the GTX 690 because when I disable it in device manager, my DPC Latency goes back down to normal levels.

I was running the 306.97, but I decided to try the beta 310.33 and the problem still persists. I did a complete clean of my system using driver fusion in safe mode to get rid of all Nvidia driver files.

What is going on here? Is this a normal thing with GTX 690? I'm pretty sure it may be responsible for producing some sound glitches in my games.

My System:

Intel i5-3570K
ASUS P8Z77-V Pro
EVGA GTX 690
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
Crucial M4 256GB SSD
WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM
Creative Sound Blaster Titanium X-Fi

Also, I've tried disabling core parking, but it had no discernible effect on my DPC latency.

same happens for me, windows upstart up sound is awful really makes my headset freak out.
but i use external soundcard so the noise and such is somewhat fixed before it goes to headset but DPC is very high at times, especially under load of system, and sound card cant fix it then, my 7970 never had this issue. iv tried reformat and secure erase and each time i disable 690 in device manager then it goes down to 50us or so,

usually its max 150000us and so with 690 enabled in some cases

Ok, I just made a rather striking discovery.

Whilst sitting on my desktop doing nothing, my DPC latency is ~700us.

But, if I'm doing anything, like browsing the internet or playing a game, my DPC stays consistently low -- ~100us.

I had simply never thought to check my DPC latency while gaming, or performing any other task for that matter.

So it seems like what I originally thought was a problem, is not actually a problem.

However, I am still curious as to why the DPC latency is so high, even when on the desktop. I don't remember it being that way on my old computer; it seemed like the DPC latency was always low even if I was doing absolutely nothing on the desktop.

So, it seems like some kind of throttling is going on or something of that nature.

yeah i did notice this when i did try gpu stabillity tests. then my dpc dropped to 50 but if my gpu is idling then its giving high dpc, in games that uses little of ur gpu means more dpc, but if i load the system itself then gpu isnt being used and its giving higher dpc than 9000 and so, iv seen it go up to 150000us
