Thread Starter
Morning all,

just looking for advice/recommendations on a new monitor,

dont know much about monitors, what to look for etc, and whilst i have spent a fair few hours trawling the internet, I dont feel any closer to making a decision, so any advice is appreciated,

cheers

I'd say the Dell U2412M

Sadly you're two days late as it was 180 pounds up till the 24th on aria, but even at 203 its good value.

- One of few 16:10 screens left, so thats 1920x1200.
- IPS screen for big viewing angles
- Covers pretty much 100% of the sRGB colour spectrum
- Sweet warrently on the ultrasharp range from Dell.
- Low power, awesome stand and display port input are nice too.

It doen't do 120hz, but its still fine for gaming. It also doesn't have a HDMI input incase thats important to you.

heres the anandtech review:

Get a 120hz screen. 60hz sucks when it comes to screen tearing and input lag.

The LG IPS is very nice, but be warned as Dz said - about screen tearing.

That said you'll get screen tearing, on EVERY monitor, considering the GPU's nowadays can output 150FPS.

So all in all, if you want to game all the time, and care about 120FPS vs capped 60FPS, get a 120hz monitor, and not the IPS234V.

I have the LG IPS24V, and LOVE the colours, and contrast ratio on it.

Here's my unboxing & BF3 on it for you:
Final review for it is: 10/10, after 1 month of usage.
