To be honest I don't get why people care about the higher resolution of the new iPads. There isn't really any benefit. You don't get videos over 1080p -720p right now and I personally don't like playing real games on a touch interface, so unless you are looking at a ton of high def pictures or love your high def UI it's not a plus.
That being said, the iOS app support is better than the windows RT app support.

That's the first time I've seen the bold words in the same sentence...

Much clearer text. I wouldn't actually bother with retina for videos or pictures but for text (forums, A4/letter-sized PDF) and static line art (e.g. comics/manga), the difference is quite pronounced. Best analogy I can make is the iPad 2 looks like it's been printed with an old low resolution dot matrix printer while the iPad 3/4 was printed with a laser printer.

ive had the worst issues with my iPad, iPod touch, and macbook pro. i've given apple a fair chance. but every time theres a problem, i canot fix it myself. i have to reformat the whole thing. and pray to god it fixed whatever error was on it. If i were you id go with the windows surface. just because im sure you can fix it or speed it up just as easily as any laptop.

i'm waiting for Surface Pro then hopefully i'll be able to run my old PC software. As well as use Skype as a phone.

all I need is a GPS attachment to turn it into a Car GPS and maybe a t-shirt with a huge pocket to carry my tablet .. no man-bag for me! LOL!

I got myself a TF300 and haven't looked back, plug in a 1tb external HDD and I got the best car entertainment system. Nexus 7 should not be there, its more of a budget tab featuring android. Although it is cheap...
