[Verge] GTA: Vice City for iOS & Android

On October 29th, Rockstar Games' seminal PlayStation 2 hit Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be 10 years old — and to celebrate the developer is bringing the game to mobile. We don't have much in the way of details just yet, but the game will be available on "a wide range" of iOS and Android devices later on this fall, and will feature "native high-resolution graphics." The port will also include "several enhancements" for the two mobile platforms, though what those extras actually are remains to be seen, as does the game's pricing. The launch follows last year's 10-year anniversary release of GTA III on mobile devices, which means we can likely expect to be playing GTA: San Andreas on our phones sometime in 2014.

Huge fan of their GTA 3 & Max Payne port, here's to another one smile.gif

Will be interesting to see how the controls handle for a game like that on a touchscreen. That's my biggest gripe with trying to play traditional game types on a mobile device, the controls are generally quite terrible.

GTA3 on android was fine control wise.
I could even play it on my 3 year old Galaxy S, almost smoothly.

Same with Max Payne. As far as Rockstar ports for mobile devices, they are surprisingly smooth and controls are great.

Also, people can use controllers while playing these games (good if you're playing it on a tablet, controller and phone seems a little silly).

Good news everyone! Vice City definitely had my favorite GTA soundtrack so instabuy for me. As far as the controls, I'd say everything was great except for the driving. It's just too sensitive.

Nice one Rockstar, watch when San Andreas gets released! We'll probably witness awesome Multiplayer too.

I'll buy this as soon as it releases given they have controller support. And if they have controller support already in GTA 3 someone please tell me how to configure it. Lol.

Trying to do a sniping mission is near impossible with touch screen. frown.gif
