I'm tired of having to thumb through both of my drives and worry about which one I want to store certain things on, but I don't feel like doing AID 0.

It might be a pain! But having dedicated drives for games and the OS is more efficient

I made a spanned volume just a few days ago with some old Maxtor hard drives. Assuming you're using Windows 7, you have to go to "disk management" (just type that in the search bar). Right click on one of the drives you want to combine and click "new spanned volume". From there, it should be relatively easy to figure out what to do.
And btw, you have to format both hard drives in the process of making a spanned volume.

If you dont want a raid configuration, try this.
Click on the Start Orb (formerly know as the Start Button in earlier version of Windows).
Type diskmgmt.msc in the Start Search field.
Press SHIFT+CTRL+ENTER to open Disk Management snap-in in an elevated state.
Right-click E drive to select Delete Volume….
NOTE
Ensure you have backup any data on drive E before deleting the volume which will cause loss of Data.
Click Yes in the confirmation dialog.
Right-click C drive to select Extend Volume….
Click Next when the Extend Volume Wizard opens.
Enter the expansion size for drive C click Next.
Review disk settings and click Finish.
Congratulations, you now have successfully extended (merged) a partition using the Disk

It's a span or big rather than just a JBOD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-RAID_drive_architectures
Windows 8 has Storage Pool which does exactly that.
