They probably put the bezel so Apple can't be like "hey that looks like a iPad" lawsuit! lawsuit! I'm sure these things go under consideration by Samsung & Google when creating this device.

As far as microSD blah blah blah..... Nexus doesn't have microSD expansion slots, there are other alternatives you can get that have microSD. That's just the way it is, this isn't the tablet for you. Move on.

Oh God I have a Galaxy SIII and I'm looking for tablet. I find the Galaxy Tab 2 7" not big enough because i compare it to my SIII, I was thinking in buying the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" but now I don't know if I should wait and see the Nexus 10.1".

What should I do? D:!

Google is dictating to Asus and Samsung that they cannot add a micro SD slot on their devices to endorse cloud storage? Sorry but that's a no go for me. I have a couple of 7" Samsung tablets that are excellent (HDMI out support, Micro SD etc). This tablet would have been perfect for travelling video usage if it had micro SD... and it does not. mad.gif

If this is real, the specs are real and its priced anywhere near the rumoured ~$200, there will be millions (more) people worldwide who will have absolutely no inclination to purchased an iPad.
I'm skeptical though.
Throwing this product out there to create hype, only for the world to be disappointed come the 29th can be a good tactic for a competitor.

Uh what? Rumored $200? The talks about a Google-Samsung high-end tablet have been around since early october and every article has been predicting it will be far more expensive than $200, I've heard even up to $500. Where are you getting this rumored $200 price?

They are not dictating anything. Google gets the manufacturers to produce the Nexus line of device. It's like, ASUS/Samsung (and all other Nexus manufacturers) are building your computer.
Google is "you".... you're basically saying what you want from them.

ASUS/Samsung (and other Nexus manufacturers) just comply because this is Google's line of device. Not ASUS' transformer or Samsung's Galaxy line.

So the thousands of comments on hundreds of websites by owners of the Nexus 7 proclaiming their love for the tablet but only if it had a micro SD slot? Google is ignoring this specific feedback intentionally. There is simply no way from a design perspective that a micro SD slot could not be included in this device or a Nexus 7. They can fit a Micro SD slot in phones a 1/4 the size of a tablet.

Google would have to be hiding under a rock to not see the comments pretty much every Nexus 7 owner made about the lack of a memory card slot. HDMI or MHL support would have been nice but extra storage is critical. It would have even helped to differentiate their products further against the IPad....
