wireless problems

Thread Starter
Hi, my computer has a weird problem that frequently and randomly disconects from my wi-fi... (the problem isn't the router since i have another computer that never had this problem before and just works fine in the wi-fi as well as other devices such as my mobile phone, an ipad, and everything works fine on my internet connection while this is happening in my PC), shows others' wireless conections but doesn't show mine, then, when i just suspend my computer and get back it just show that i don't have Wireless conection, like if the computer didn't have Wi-Fi at all, the only way i manage to get over it is restarting the computer several times, after that it comes back to normal, but i'll never know when it's going back crazy again. I'd like some help :/

First of all welcome to OCN.

This is a little bit out of my area of expertise, but i'll try.

In your control panel --> all control pannel items --> power options --> edit plan settings --> advanced settings. There is a power saving option called "wireless adapter settings". Try messing around with these options. I would set it to "maximum performance" and see if your problems go away.

If that doesn't work, I would look up the manufacturer / model of your wireless adapter and go directly to the manufacturers website and find the latest version of the driver. (Don't trust the Windows Update, or Dell, or HP or whoever to have the latest and greatest version of the driver available. )

Lastly, if all else fails, try un-plugging and replugging in your wireless adapter in. It it is not tightly inserted into your motherboard it might act weird.
