Need New 140mm Fans

Thread Starter
Hello everyone. I just bought my Arc Midi a month ago and decided I need more fans as I am not getting good performance. I am looking for some 140mm fans that are relativity quiet and a decent CFM. I do not care if they are LED as the foam on the Midi will block most of it anyway. I am on a budget but please post any fans you think would perform well according to my needs.

Just a note: I cannot buy anything like a TY-140 as its shape would not fit the front panel of the Midi.

Thanks!

The TY-140 isn't a standard fan (L151mm x H140mm x W26.5mm).
Standard 140mm fans must be like 140mm x 140mm vs 25mm.

I'm using the Cougar CF-V14H Vortex 140mm as case fan and it's quiet.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553003&name=Case-Fans

I've heard from another guy that the Gelid 140mm is a quiet fan.

I think you'll like the Gelid 140mm very much. Just wind noise at full speed. No motor noise at all.
I spent a pretty penny buying and testing various 120mm and 140mm to find the best fan that has the lowest noise at full speed and pushed good air at low speed. Surprisingly it's a less popular company called Gelid.

Why are you saying that you isn't getting good performance?
Are the CPU and the GPU running with higher temps?

Never heard of that brand to be honest. I like the CFM and dBA rating. If others vouch I'll consider it!

Well, the COUGAR fan wouldn't fit the front. Since the Midi has clips in the front, it wouldn't work. The GELID is just too far off my price range.

As for my performance, it is just that the fans that came with the case aren't that good. They perform less than 1000 RPM (probably 800) and are loud. I think they are only loud however because the bearing is already dying out. I just need some better quality and performance fans.

Now the Akasa is something I've heard a lot about. They price is $15 a piece with shipping but like I posted before if enough people vouch for them I'll consider it.

Thanks for all your answers guys.

Well, I don't have these fans.
I found them when I was looking some fans for my case but I ended with other fans.

i love it, pushes a ton of air almost silently, actually the only audible noise is the "woosh" sound from moving the air, not the fan itself

If you're looking at the Akasa, just grab the Rosewill Hyperborea. It should be cheaper and it's just a rebrand. I've heard good things about the Arctic Cooling F14, Bgears Bblaster, Gelid Wings, and Silverstone Air Penetrator AP141. The XSPC Xinruilian fans should also be good.

I wouldn't recommend BitFenix Spectre Pros or Cooler Master R4s. I have the BitFenix fans and they really don't live up to their specs. I'm looking to replace mine with something better. The R4s I'd avoid just because they're loud.
