The 8800GTX will smoke the pants off any SLI configuration at the current moment.
the 8800GTX does not "smoke the pants off" all SLI configs. It beats my volt modded 7900GTs in SLI but not by all that much (when comparing benchmarks), and Im saying this conservatively.
the funny thing is for the heck of it I just checked tomshardware, and my SLI voltmod 7900GTs are scoring way higher then 1 8800GTX, I score over 17K on 3dmark05, here is the 8800GTX... http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/11/....html#3dmark05
Dont misinterpret me though, I would most def rather have 1x8800GTX then my current GPUs, lol Im not stuck in a 7900GT voltmodded fanboy world

this is not correct either...here, how bout we just compare benchmarks with people on OC.net (all benchmarks run in 1024x768), This is my scores compared to tubnotub1 (with a Core2X@3.2) with a 8800GTX OCd

The 8800GTX beats X1950XTX crossfire at every resolution, I'm pretty sure it can beat 7950GT SLI.

You are comparing a stock 8800GTX to a modified and overclocked 7900 SLI configuartion.
If one was to volt mod an 8800GTX as well as overclock it will 'smoke the pants off' any current SLI setup.
Ahahahah, I am so happy because of this. The depression that came with the 8800 was quickly solved when I realized that my card is clocked a lot higher than a stock gtx, and those smoke in sli the 8800 on the toms hardware reviews

I have my SLI 7950GT and really they are good card's and monster's Overclockers but vs 8800GTX is way tough to beat. The scores in those 8800GTX card's are really good.I compare some and notice that in 3d 03 mark's some 8800GTX single card can't beat mine's.But is only in some cases and that depend a lot in what cpu you going to use if use a C2D forget the 7950GT.Just my 2 cent's.I fill up my form for step up to the 8800GTX.Im in the waiting list.
My entire point was 2x voltmodded 7950s are just not going to be smoked by 1x 8800GTX, this is proven on this website, and on others, and noone has provided any evidence to the contrary, esp the people who dont even have an SLI system or a 8800GTX.
