logitech mx518 precision issues

Hey all,

I recently re-installed windows 7 as well as flashed a different BIOS and have been having issues with my mouse. It seems to be a precision issue as no matter what settings I use I seem to be "forcing" precision with my hand as opposed to having the mouse do the work. For example, if I try and point at a tray icon, I will end up falling short of the icon or just past it and then I have to move it ever so slightly, cramping up my hand to get the desired position.

I have tried a different usb mouse and I still seem to have the same issue. I have tried uninstalling the logitech setpoint driver which did not help either. I have tried using the desk surface and a white sheet of paper and still no luck. I am going to try a PS2 mouse and get back to you.

It sucks because all was well before the fresh windows 7 install and flashed BIOS.

Any suggestions?

I have a logitech mx518 btw

Have you unchecked enhanced pointer precision in mouse properties?

Sounds like acceleration. Enhance pointer precision or something in the drivers may be on that should not be on.

Sorry for the late reply, Yes I have turned off all accelerations.

The PS2 mouse I had lying around works fine. I tested the mouse on a different computer and it seemed to work fine. I plugged it into a different USB and it started working fine again only to revert back after a few minutes. I've plugged it again into a different USB and it seems to be fine for now.

I did some more research on google and it seems setpoint can be bugged in some versions :/

oh well, looks like a might have to invest in a non-logitech mouse and use a shotgun in bf3 for the time being lol. Thanks all for the help.
