"Fan" is short for fanatic, i don't consider myself to be one.
Considering both AMD and Nvidia are mainly interested in making money, I'd say you would have to be either ignorant or stupid to be a fanatic of either side of the coin.
The differences between them are ridiculously small anyway, there's no point in arguing which is best.

this

however, I generally prefer to use an Nvidia card for all my everyday uses and ATi for my overclocking ventures.

You should add a "Both" or "Equally" or something to the poll.

I like both AMD and Nvidia. I like that Nvidia have Physx, Adaptive Vsync, and awesome looking cards. I like how AMD are such great value for money, and are great overclockers.

However, I am going to buy an AMD just for the fact it's alot cheaper.

What ever gives me the best bang for buck.

Which is currently AMD, still contemplating if I should move to Nvidia because of drivers, though.

Neither. I find any form of fanboyism stupid. I can partly understand why you are a fan of a certain person. But i can't understand why you would be a fanboy of a company.

If i want to buy a budget gaming system then i would get an AMD gpu, if i want an high end gaming system then i would probably go for NVIDIA.

AMD gets my vote on this one, this is really the only reason they're alive now after they're AMD FX flop. They're fastest processors are about two years old (the Phenom II X6). On the graphics side however, they are doing everything right, they might not be ahead of the curve in terms of performance, but at the moment I could not care any less, when AMD gets the performance crown, they always price so aggressively, ex. anyone remember circa-2008-2009 with the release of the HD 4000 series? It went up strongly against two generations of NVIDIA's products, one of which they tried to rip us off on big time (9 series was basically a rebadge of the 8 series).

That doesn't mean I don't like Nvidia though, right now I am using an Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 so, I love it, it's a solid performer. But without AMD around it would really suck for us, my last card the 5850 just died recently, I really loved that card!

AMDs done right with so many things in the graphics department I can't thank them enough smile.gif)

On the other end though, Intel seriously dominates while keeping the prices "just right" ($100 for an i3? count me in), I don't know what's going on with AMD in that part of the world.
