Windows 8 Upgrade assistant "We can't connect right now"

Anyone else getting this error?

When I first ran the assistant, I was able to get to the order screen, put in the 14.99 code and then it would tell me it "couldn't process my ordered" I backed up changed my visa info to my master card and i was getting the same error.

I think closed it out tried again only to get the same error.

I then restarted my computer and now when I load the assistant it tells me how many programes work with windows 8 and then when I hit next it tells me "We can't connect right now" (Check your internet connections and try again)

Stumped here, I tried 8 hours ago and this morning the same thing.

Hey I had the same problem. Here was my solution.

Click Start > type CMD > Right Click on it > Run as Administrator.

run this command at the prompt:

netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie

Then double check your PC clock... My calendar was set to August, 2012..

I ran that command and corrected my date and time and it worked right away. Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the advise, didn't work. Calendar is set to proper date etc. I have the same issue as the original poster. I have tried just about every advice out there, still the same error message.

Still doesnt work for me either. I may try downloading IE see if that helps. after i put that command in it comes up with

Direct access .

Tried another computer on my network and its giving me the same error at the checkout as my main computer did the first couple times.

We couldn't process your order

Check your payment info and try again. Provided by arvato digital services, llc. Privacy Statement, Imprint

All the info is correct, I have used a Visa and MC and know both are working.
