Phenom ii x4 965 Temps

Thread Starter
Hello,

So i got a phenom ii x4 965, and at 3.4ghz which is stock frequency, the temps under OCCT running are 58/59, and when i put voltage on 1.280 (by default its on auto, which is 1.44), i get 55/56°.........

Is this normal for this cpu ?? If not please tell me what to do.

And if i have to buy a cooler, please tell me whats best cooler for 40-50€ ??

Thanks guys.

It depends on what cooler you're using. I have an antec 620 and it's about 50 Celcius under 100% load..
60c is the limit under load for these chips. temperatures at this level will decrease the lifetime of your chip.
invest in some better airflow for your case or buy a cheap aftermarket cpu cooler.
this is what most recommend as a benchmark

You'll need a new cooler. Yes, either the huper 212, or the Noctua NH-14 - they're both good choices and comparable with Closed loop systems such as the h70 and 620.

i have a 965 BE as well, i chose to get the hyper 212 plus. my average temperature under load dropped by about 10 C average.

the difference between the hyper 212 plus and the evo is the fan and the base plate i believe (also the hyper 212 plus is cheaper). but if you're not doing anything crazy it should be enough for your needs.

I never went further than 3.8ghz with the hyper 212. this is a question a more experienced overclocker should answer.
