Phenom ii x4 965 Temps - Page 2

the macho looks nice, but it might be overkill for your purposes.
the evo 212 is a great starter heatsink for basic overclocking, given your power supply, motherboard and case air flow can handle it.
4-4.2 ghz may be out of reach, shoot for 3.8 with an aftermarket cooler and learn from there. thumb.gif

The problem is, i'll pay the hyper evo 212 45€ if i don't buy it on amazon (30€ hyper evo 212 + 15 shipping price), but if ibuy on amazon i don't pay shipping price, so is there any good cooler for 50€ ??

Edit : How about this : http://www.amazon.fr/NOCTUA-NH-U9B-SE2/dp/B002SLJMQ2/ref=sr_1_23?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1351409025&sr=1-23 ?

make sure any of these coolers will fit your case and not hit your ram sticks.

i recommend the HR2 Macho. the 212 may need another fan, which will be added cost. the cooler the cpu, the better the oc.

I run my Phenom II X4 at 3.7 GHz with 212+ cooler, at 100% (Prime95) it reaches 49-52C at most.

I can go up to 50€ for the cooler, is Hyper 212EVO the best cooler ?

When I had mine at stock, I had about 53-55* under load, stock cooler. I have a hyper 212+ (Evo really wont make a difference) for 30 bucks, and on stock I get 42* under load. I am at 4.2ghz now

And under load I am at 53-54*

btw, what case do you have? are you already maxed out on fans for that case? that might help you out as well in terms of temperatures

Ok so i bought Noctua nh u9b SE2, and i overclocked my cpu to 4Ghz, but when i run occt for like 2-3 mins, temps are 58-59..........and on idle temps are 31° instead of 40° with default amd cooler......I think its because i have mini ATX motherboard, and my HD 5870 is running hot lol. Or maybe my vcore is too high (1.44volt when i set on auto on bios) ?

What do you guys think ??
