Best AM3+ Motherboards for Vishera? - Page 3

All the new Gigabyte Rev. 1.1 and higher fixed the vdroop issue. The UD7 looks to be an awesome board and it's only $165 after rebate on newegg. That being said, it depends on what you want/need. So far the CHV-Z seems to be the best for overclocking PD, plus it has a host of new features, such as the LED poster, better audio, 8 x 6Gb SATA connectors and enhanced memory overclocking. They also gave it a new VRM section. However, the UD7 have the capability to run 4 PCIe cards, whereas all other 990FX boards can only do three or less. If you are into water cooling, EK makes a VRM block for the UD7, but nothing for the CHV-Z board. Figure out what you want/need and look at MB's that fit that. By the way, UD3 is just a little over $100 and it does quite well assuming you want the best bang for your buck.

The UD7 and CH-Z are a bit more than I was wanting to pay. The Sabertooth board is it at a reasonable price point, does it come with a USB3 header? I'd like to be able to use my two front USB3 ports on my case.

I like my crosshair V. There are a lot of things that you need to setup for it to work properly, but if you are willing to learn it's a really fun experience.

EDIT : Dont pay the premium for the Crosshair V - Z over the regular Crosshair V.
The supremFX chip is bad, no matter if it's II or III. It's really just a standard realtek chip with a creative driver suite.

You can pick almost anything 890 970 and 990 as long as it supports 125tdp has 8+2 phase design and is heatsinked vrm. No need for ultra expansive boards unless you wnat to overclock like crazy smile.gif

Just found msi 890motherboard that fills above requirements and costs like 70$ or something and ofc supports vishera with bios upgrade >smile.gif

Yes, it does smile.gif It's between SB and DRAM, which is very nice placement:

Yes it's a good board, but it may have problems running a high oc'd 8 core due to it only having 4+2 phases.

That's really great smile.gif

All of the gigabyte motherboards I've found are all Rev 1.0 in the U.K. which is really annoying and I've not heard much about Biostar but it's the same price as the Sabertooth for me so I don't think I'll bother with it. I couldn't find the MSI V2 Socket AM3+/AM either :/
