Which full tower to get?

Thread Starter
Im going to be upgrading my cpu and mobo soon and want to be able to cool it well enough to get some good overclocks out of it. My cooler master elite 430 was a good starting case but just has not got the room for a liquid cooling setup or even a big air cooler (without it taking up the whole case).

I'm after getting a full tower case so that I will (hopefully) never run into space problems again. I like the look of the NZXT Switch 810 and the cooler master HAF X. Which one would you choose and are there any other cases I should be considering?

Thanks

Switch 810 hands down. Awesome at air and plenty of room for water...

I had the 932 advance HAF and it was okay. Inside is basically the same as the HAF x. I could not do any of the cool stuff with that thing that I have done with my 810. + NZXT cust service is the best. They have 2 reps on the thread taking care of issues.....

Switch 810 (or i think the 820 just came out) if you want to water cool. Haf X if you are going to stick with air. Haf X has been one of the top air cooling cases for a while and the switch has lots of room for water cooling and some neat features if you don't mind a lot of plastic on the exterior of the case. It is possible to water cool in the Haf X but not really built for it as well as the Switch. I would say decide if you want to go high end air or water then pick your case.

Cooler Master HAF-X for sure. I love my case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119225

Some other good alternatives would be Corsair's Full-Tower cases. Corsair is making a huge name for themselves in every department.

The switch also has a really large amount of air flow with 140mm fans all the way around. I would suggest it either way.

Thanks for the reply!

I think I'm leaning toward the switch now. I see you have the 3770k. How has it been working for you? The 3770k is the cpu im planning of getting. It should be a huge leap from a athlon X3 450 lol.

That is an incredible build btw. Its that sort of thing I aspire to end up with.

Initially I will be air cooled but I'm going to gradually go to water cooling. the switch looks great for air cooling too so I should be fine at the start.

Thanks. As you can see in my log there have been many different iterations to get where I am not. Expect a lot of time and planning. It is really fun though.

The 3770 is nice. If you are just doing a lot of gaming I would just get the 3570k and put the extra 100 towards pimping out your GPU.

I looked at the 800D but I dont like the lack of air cooling options. It looks like the air pressure would be very negative.
