One of the posts on the DiRT forums got me thinking, I wonder if different driver versions show the same level of slow down.
So I looked at two hosts, 44438 and 45543.
44438 runs the ntlm in 477s and the md5 in 575s, roughly 20% slower.
45543 runs the ntlm in 563s and the md5 in 982s, roughly 75% slower.
So why does 44438 not slow down as much? It seems that 44438 is running an older driver - 1.4.1720 compared to 1.4.1741.
Tomorrow I will try to find a copy of 1.4.1720 and see if my 7950 runs the md5 tasks faster.
Edit: I think 1.4.1720 is part of the Catalyst 12.4 package.

driver shouldnt matter just the opencl.
can get older drivers from that im gonna test it uninstalling opencl and installing it from 12.4 im running 12.4 opencl now to see if times improve or slow down any will post back later on with a update. If it works better i will upload the opencl only so you guys with 7900 can use it without needing to download the entire driver package. Seeing the same times with 12.4 gonna try 12.3 and see if it has any improvements in dirt sometimes you do get quicker workunits on the md5 so that could be what you was seeing from that guy unless all his workunits are faster.

i didnt see any changes by using differt opencl verisons the 12.4 looked promising with some 10min times then they went up to 12-13mins.

Yes, I just tried with 12.4 and BOINC manager 7.0.24 and 7.0.28, no improvement.
Not sure why that one host is showing no large increase in WU times, but it is fairly consistent.
Gone back to 12.11 beta driver again.

i got some good news for you guys after reading the post on dirt forums about the opencl driver that works i modded 12.11 beta 7 with the older opencl driver and so far looks great. Need to test games still and make sure they work good still darkryder is testing it also when we know it works will give you a link for it.
