Xbox live lagging

Hello everyone,

I play CoD MW2 on xbox live and experience alot of lagg. My speed is 107mbits down/13mbits up (pay alot for that) and my ping is 9ms. My xbox has a wired connection. Youtube and other sites load really fast and when i play online on my xbox i always get picked as the host (when im the host the connection is just normal). When im not the host i get those laggy moments of shooting someone directly in the chest and not getting hitmarkers, long weapon reload times, getting shot behind the corner and weird enough my connection in mw2 is always a 4bar!

No offense, but it sounds like you're just trying to convince yourself that you're lagging; perhaps you are bad at the game or don't understand how online host/client games work? If you always have host then you're always on a perfect connection; you literally cannot lag.

The examples you give are pretty much the same thing I hear from people that are truly bad at the game and whine at every opportunity; eg every time they die.

You definitely don't always have host, though, and for those cases you need to realize your connection won't be the bottleneck; it will be the hosts. Although, unless everybody has a crappy connection to them, there will still be very little to no lag.

I know you're trying to help but you're so wrong. My K/D ratio (even with lag) is 3.11 so is obviously know how to play a game and when it's connection problems. If i shoot my whole clip in one guy, and he doesnt die, trust me that is not my fault. Also I said im always the host when the host migration appears, that DOESNT mean Im the host when i just join an already started game. Finally it takes 3 seconds for a semtex to throw when the animation was already finished. So you don't have to make me sound like an average trash talking gamer who sucks at the game.

I also have a high KD and play MW2 a lot, and if you really are having lag issues, it must be a very strange issue that happens to align you with a lot of the people that claim to lag when they probably aren't. The connection bars are generally very reliable as well, so frankly I don't know what could be causing it. Try connecting to a different network/switching to wireless/wired?

You're just going to need to do some basic troubleshooting to try and narrow down why it's doing this, which considering the subtle difference you are probably experiencing, might be difficult.

Can it be that my network has some setting that every network user gets like 3mbits down and like 0.50 mbits up. Other than that i dont really know what it can be, sometimes my game has good ping again on mw2, then i play some black ops and my ping is ****ed again? Its seriously that i shoot almost a whole clip of the famas(only get hitmarkers at the last burst) straight to his chest (he wasnt even moving, just camping) then a guy dies really laggy and semtex takes like 10 seconds to throw.

Then when there is a host migration, i mostly get picked as host and then i immediately see that im the host because it takes the normal time to throw a semtex and i kill people with only 1 famas burst, it feels like im on drugs after having such a bad ping (or whatever the issue is).


And what annoys me the most is that when i see an enemy im immediately dead, like he has extreme aimbot and then when i watch the killcam i see him just kill me really slow and you see my character just walking not even facing him what i did at first.


btw my nat type is open and when i do a connection test on my playstation i only get 10mbits up 2 mbits down when speedtest gives a 108mbits down and like 13.7mbits up

QoS settings could limit connections, but if speedtest is giving the right speeds I doubt you are being limited. You can check the QoS (Quality of Service) settings in your router's configuration. (192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1 etc depending on your router)
