Periodic lag/freezing and no max performance? - Page 15

Will I have to set any settings in the bios after loading fail safe defaults?
Also, are drivers different between different revisions of the same board?

No just hit exit and save, verify yes to save the new settings. You shouldn't install drivers for a different revision board.

Well I don't know the revision of my board, the drivers and the bios for the two revisions are exactly the same size, is it possible to know the revision through software?
I'm too lazy to unplug the system and open it and check the revison on the board.
Which should I use, etron usb 3.0 or intel usb 3.0 driver? or both?
Do I need the Intel VGA driver?

Open the case and find it on the board only way I know. And honestly I would rest the bios first and see what happens and then go from there.

"Load optimized defaults", is this the option I'm looking for?
Also, will I have to configure anything in the bios after resetting the settings?

no looks like that but says load factory defaults

I don't have that, these are the possible options :
F1 : 3d mode
F5 : previous values
F7 : optimized defaults
F8 : Q-Flash
F9 : System information
F10 : Save & Exit
F12 : Print screen
Load optimized defaults : Restores/loads default values for all the setup options.

What's the difference between load optimized defaults and load default values?

Optimized is your best performance settings
Default is basic from the factory, no overclocking or anything set it to that and try it
