Windows 8 Color Profile Problem!

I've tried to fix it on my own through the power of google, but alas ... I'm out of ideas.

So I have a dual monitor situation and I'm running Nvidia GTX 670s in SLI (SLI on or off doesn't seem to make a difference-- neither does disconnecting a monitor).

I know how to go into color management and assocate the correct profiles. I know how to change the system defaults so Windows actually loads those profiles--

basically what it says to do here: Can't apply an ICC profile to display; can't understand - Microsoft Community

It worked great in Windows 7. But I can literally load any profile and it makes zero difference. They are clearly not loading.

I've tried loading them under the Administrator account as well and they made zero difference.

I tried using the LutLoader from ColorEyes display pro and that didn't work.

So... any ideas? I'm at wits end here. And they do make a noticable difference for me in my monitor's appearance.

ok basicly ignore srgb ,you can use scrgb in a icc way (i think)not sure here.icc might not have been certified ,if it isnt w8 suck even more cause as we most experience to get proper computer quality (netflix)you need icc or adobe rgb (1998)i favor adobe because of the wide gamut but maybe scrgb do the same in icc!not sure

Just to follow up---

Have not really solved it. It seems like "installed" profiles aren't working. Meaning, ones either installed with Windows 8 or that I downloaded from the manufacturer's website then installed.
I can go through on either monitor (one a Samsung 120 hz, one an ASUS IPS Panel) and attach any profile that installed with Windows 8 to it or the "official" ones you can download and they make absolutely zero difference. Now, in Windows 7... when I'd install the profile on the monitor and apply it properly I'd get an instant color shift.

However, if I create one, it works fine. I have an old meter here that is basically is worthless because it is so inaccurate now, but as a test I profiled the monitor, applied it.. and sure enough it changed the colors on either monitor. Also, if you use the built in windows calibrator those profiles also work.

It almost makes me think it's a permissions thing, but I've gone through and tried to match up the working profiles and the non-working ones as far as permissions go and it didn't seem to help.

It's very strange. What makes it more strange is when I originally installed Windows 8 on release day the user account I created was attached to my Windows Live Account and it automatically downloaded all the settings I had from the preview releases (same desktop picture, etc). Profiles worked then! I don't know if it's the windows live account or because I did the upgrade option. But, because of some incompatibility issues, I had to start over and do a clean install and they no longer work.

If anyone is still looking for an answer to this issue, I believe I have solved it. You must first run through the windows color management calibration tool before it will allow you to apply your own color profiles. After I did that I can now freely switch between which ever profiles I desire.
