SOLVED!! (will be making a tut on how i did it!!) ANY TIPS ON TAKING APART A XFX HD RADEON 6870 help! :( i can hear my berrings

ok i have one of this ''NOTE!! there is nothing touching the fan blades no dust build up !''

AND this morning i turned on my rig and the fan ran smooth then all of a sudden it sounds like if the fan berrings are goin bad frown.gif
SO need some advice ASAP!!! on taking apart the thing to see if the fan needs a drop of oil

Under the GPU chip there should be a couple screws (i don't have this specific card however on my 6870 there are 4 screws), unscrew these.
There may be 2 screws where the display ports/IO are located.
Then it should pull off - if it doesn't don't force it, look for other screws, eventually you should be left with this.



Remember when you put the shroud back on to re-apply the thermal paste once you have cleaned the chip and heatsink.

OK MAN thanks ill give it a shot, ill put a drop of clean tranny oil on the berrings and see if that helps!

hey I TOOK IT OUT BUT UMMM I THINK THERE IS SOME PLASTIC PERMANENT CAP!!

i wonder if poking through the plastic cap to see the shaft and then drop down a drip of oil??
