@ 24inch 1200p is the native pixel size? 1080p for the 23(and a bit)

With that money, I would get a 27" Achieva Shimian. They are the cheapest IPS monitors on Ebay right now in your price range. Believe me man, you won't be dispointed with 1440p for gaming, especially with the GPU power you have now.

My first thought, you have 3GB... you could go 30inch and be fine... (why did you need the 3GB version?)

There are only 3GB versions of 7950 sold in my country, why not anyway? I'm looking at the Crossover or ShiMian, gonna get one. People say catleap has crappy stand.

The choice is ultimately yours, but one thing you want to consider is price. Since you said there are only 3GB versions of the 7950 sold in your country and you already have one, a 27" monitor will work fine.

Smaller IPS monitors are usually around $200-$400 (Ultrasharp models are reference on Dell's website). I'd go with a 27" Korean monitor. They might not have the best contrast or something of the sort and have a small risk to them, but people usually end up getting good monitors.

I can't really take advantage of a monitor that size, and I'm going to be sitting pretty far from it and because of my horrible eyesight, I can merely see the text, and I don't have $400 to spare so a smaller monitor is fine for me. I use a small 15.6" monitor all the time (laptop in my sig) and a 19" 4:3 NEC I found laying around. I've seen a 21.5" 16:9 monitor and it felt big to me, so that would be more than good enough for me, but this is just my 2cents.gif and you may think differently.

Well, your notebook is pretty old, it couldn't run for example games at playable high rest. I've seen Thunderbolt display and I liked it, I have to power to make the 1440p work and spare money + christmas (I'm 18, student, I don't smoke, drink or party, just sometimes I buy water in school tongue.gif). In my country, the 24' 1080p IPS's start at $270 so yea... you get it.
I'm mostly worried about the monitor not breaking after 1 year or so. If it lasts 5, I'm happy.
