Nice job on the HD 7950 with the new drivers. thumb.gif

The 7950 loses 1 of the 4 tests and wins the rest so how is that back and forth? headscratch.gif

I was looking at the min fps and average as well where they went back and forth. Other than that they were close enough to each other to be within a margin of error.

It's not that close, the graph plots clearly show the 7950 is much more consistent then the other 2 cards....

Why look at the raw numbers when you have a actual graph...

It's a hard choice, I'd imagine. Hell, you could purchase the 7950 and a week later Nvidia releases amazing drivers that raise the performance of the cards. Stretching it, but I don't think anyone expected the AMD driver performance boost, either.

But honestly. Both are great cards, I guess it'd come down to brand choice? Or like some people.. how the card looks.

7950 = Great Card
670 = Great Card

Would you notice the difference between the two if you did a blind computer test at 1920x1080? Probably not.

I know that in the UK the 670 is a good £100 more expensive then the 7950 so picking between the 2 is really a no brainer....

It is very close when looking at the average frame rate and min frame rate which is what matters. Im not interested in sudden fps spikes in those graphs where the ATI card can get massive peak frames and then sudden dips, this makes for a fairly un smooth gameplay experience as the frame rates are inconsistent.

The GTX 670 on the other hand while not having as many FPS spikes still ends up with the same or better average frame rate, which card do you think is going to provide the smoother experience? the one with the FPS all over the charts or the one that is more consistent?

Part of the reason I ditched my HD 7970 was due to the frame rate inconsistency of the card.

If I had not gotten these 670's for $359.99 each then I wouldnt have purchased them, I do agree that $400.00 is too much for these cards.

Are you even looking at the same charts? Or excuse my expression, but are you looking at them with Nvidia glasses on?

They're only running on the 12.8 drivers too, if they were tested on the 12.11's the results would be much much higher on the 7950 too.

So all this hype about the amd drivers? So what if Nvidia releases a "never settle" driver with there own shady "optimizations"? I think either card is awsome. I just prefier Nvidias. and they (nvidia) Will most likely release a driver to match amd. There not just sitting around either wink.gif
