As I said duds happen man, on both sides. However I dont think it speaks for the majority as there are more decent overclockers out there than duds.

if I had more choices from where I'm from I would've switched to 7970. the red reference cooler doesn't fit wit my blue/black theme and the other card that's available an asus DirectCU II is a bit worrying to get. I've heard nothing but complaints on that card frown.gif

my 7970 is a crappy clocker but it will still do 1150 for games and 1225 for benchmarks.

Yeah stay away from the DirectCU ll version, it has problems cooling the vrms.

id take a 1150mhz 7970 over a 1198mhz gtx 680 all day. 7970's are much faster clock for clock not to mention the 12.11 gave them a big performance boost

from what I've read some are randomly voltage locked. asus dropped the ball with their directCU II cards. I would've gotten it in a heart beat if they weren't so retarded
