Windows 7 Won't Boot

Thread Starter
I apologize if this in the wrong section, but my Windows 7 won't boot. My HD setup is a 240gb SSD with windows 7 on it, then a 1TB HDD with a 925gb partition for random files, and a 75gb partition for Winodows 8. In my Asus BIOS I can select either the HDD or the DVD drive to boot from, but the SSD doesn't show up anymore. I can use the boot override or whatever and select the SSD, but it just shows a black screen with a rainbow type line along the top of the screen. Any way to fix this?

Have you tried booting from the windows 7 CD and selecting repair?

i had the same problem but i use a asrock board so it might be alil different. in my bios i had to change the hard drive priorities put your sdd as primary. then try to boot win7 if it still doesnt boot change from AHCI to IDE or the other way around. that should cure your problem thumb.gif

The settings was at AHCI and I changed it to IDE and still no go. Reset all the settings to default and installed a SATA patch and still no go. In the simple view of the bios at the bottom where you can drag your drives around for the boot priorities, it only shows the HDD and my DVD drive. The SSD is recognized in Windows 8 though.

Another thing I'm noticing is that on startup it shows the ASUS logo screen, then quickly flashes a black screen with white text saying something about JMicron something, then shows the ASUS screen again, then boots into Windows 8 by default. This has only been happening since installing windows 8. Before it would just show the ASUS screen once then boot into Windows 7.

Cleared CMOS, the only change was on startup an American Megatrends screen showed up telling me to go to setup to re-enter the cleared settings. No change in the issue though. I'm trying a windows disk now.

Even worse problems now. Booted into the windows disk and it couldn't find a windows installation. It asked for a driver of the hard disk if it wasn't listed, so I restarted and was going to boot into windows 8 to get the driver, but when I boot into windows 8 it says my computer needs to be repaired. Now my rig isn't working at all. Anything else I can do? Not sure what the heck started all these issues frown.gif

Apologies if you've already answered this, do both your drives show up in bios? It sounds like that agility 3 may have taken a dump if it's not showing up. Same thing happened to me not long ago, but OCZ was pretty darn good about sending me a new one 2 day air.
