Arctic Cooling MX-4 Is the best in my opinion, no need for it to "cure" and it lasts a very long time and I also get good temps with it.

kgtuning - do you care to post a thread or comment on your experience with delidding? I just got my enthusiast build up yesterday so it'll be a while before I mod much of anything... but I am in the early stages of considering delidding and going to all liquid.

thanks

Shin Etsu X-23 or AS5. There are a ton of new "magic" TIM out but AS5 and x23 are tried and true.

thats good "magic" TIM's. I think AS5 is kinda out dated.

x23 has been around longer than as5. They are both dated by tech standards, but they are both easy to apply, extremely consistent and even today compete with the "magic" ones I mentioned. Ive used both for years and have absolutely no reason at all to switch or try something new. Its more about proper seating of the heat sink and the actual efficiency of the cooler itself.

So I'm planning on getting the Prolimatech PRO-PK2-5G Nano Aluminum High-Grade, according the chart posted on page 3, that's the best one available right?

Yeah. But does it work?

Don't get PK2, it's not as good as PK1 or PK3. I would highly recommend PK1, but PK3 is supposed to be even better both in terms of cooling and in ease of application, which would make it an excellent choice.
PK1 will provide significantly better temps than AS5, has no cure time, spreads very well, and is not conductive. I use it on every single heatsink and waterblock in my system. It lowered the VRM/MOSFET temps on my Rampage 4 Extreme by 13C under load and the IOH temps by 7C.
