Godaddy pissed me off when renewing my domain tongue.gif They refused to help me in any capacity unless I presented a business license for the domain itself.

Hostable has been good personally, have been on their 3 year free promotion but haven't noticed any issues.

If you want more of a VPS, AlienVPS seems to give a good value for the money.

1. Will host a personal blog with pics notes and stuff, with a few sub domains for other stuff(like F@H monitoring), another site for my dad so he can show some of his work with some contact info, same for my uncle, maybe one more with random stuff
2. No I will not have a store
3. since I will not have only one site, I suppose I will use many

if you want to host a few sites i would really look into a vps
blogs (any script) will use a lot of ram/cpu and they tend to run a little slow on shared hosting.
shared hosting is your basic hosting that you would get with most of the recommended hosts.

vps isn't as easy to use vs these large name shared hosting places.
mostly because they make it dumbed down. the advantage of a vps is the speed and control you have.
you can get a fully managed vps account and pretty much just tell them to do this that and the other to it.
i personally use tmzvps.com and they keep me happy.

vps will be further out of your price bracket, but well worth the investment.
i only use godaddy for buying my domain names, their interface for changing things is way more complex than it needs to be.
so as for them, i wouldn't use their hosting just because of that.

lunarpages

I've used them for probably 5+ years now. Very professional staff and very helpful.

well what are you going to be hosting?? also from experience its not wise to have the same carrier of your domain and hosting. I run godaddy for domains which arent really bad and inmotion hosting. In reality they are all the same and technically only issues you may run into is if a problem ever occurs. That being said also try searching review sites. I have noticed ipage is up there on customer service so that may be an option. I personally do a lot of CMS driven sites and within 6 months never had an issue but 3 weeks back i have account go down because of their SQL server going down. Granted I did have a lot of frustration but they did give me an additional 6 months hosting. I havent had any more issues since but it could change tomorrow. Also, you are looking at something of little value to the big dogs. If we were talking about a dedicated server it would be different. ipage is maybe a good solution for you BUT i wont choose them because they run vdeck and I prefer cpanel. godaddy does have their own custom dashboard and Ive heard it can be a pain. After thinking about it I know a month or so back godaddy's servers ALL went off line really bad and was an uproar. FYI

I've had terrible experiences with GoDaddy, their service is slow and its not very reliable. For hosting I would go with Namecheap.

I paid mine in bulk (3 years for just over 100$ w/coupon). Unmetered everything, cpanel etc.
