PS3 DS3 and Motionjoy

Thread Starter
So I've been trying to use my PS3 DS3 controller on my pc for a while using Motionjoy and can't. I remember trying to do this a while ago and facing a brick wall and giving up but this time I really really want to use it because M+KB which are the peripherals of the gods just can't cut it for the older titles. So I ran motionjoy which is so slow it's incredible (something is wrong with their server) everything went without a hitch. This time the PS3 controller actually registered correctly but when in game my guy is running or shooting or hitting without me pressing anything. I have some control over my guy but there is something wrong as it keeps doing stuff without me actually pressing anything, Does anyone know what is up with this?

And If anyone has a better, simpler program that allows me to use my PS3 controller please let me know. Motionjoy is nothing but a big migraine.

it's really easy now since they finally licensed motionjoy, so you won't have to do any extra steps. just install it, plug in your ps3 controller and figure out which port it's plugged in, then load the drivers.

that's it.

best part about it is that you can use Xinput for most of the PC games out now which is cool, and then just regular setting for emulation.

here is a video that helps:

After a while of troubleshooting I finally swapped the controller and rebooted and well... It works now! I always forget to do the most basic step which is usually the one that fixes things. Thanks anyways dude! Now I can finally play these games the semi-right way lol.

If you have a bluetooth equipped motherboard or a USB adapter you can go wireless.  I have a cheap little rocketfish USB bluetooth adapter and it works great.
