Need headset under $80

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new headset though I'd say most of the time I'm on my PC I'm listening to music and only 10% of the time I'm actually playing games with friends. Right now I'm using some ancient Turtle Beach x1 and the audio quality is okay (I've never own any high quality headsets) and my friends say the mic quality is fine, but they are starting to break. I've been eyeing the Siberia V2's but I'm not completely set on them. Any recommendations?

I don't own a sound card but I'm told the one on my motherboard (Maximus V GENE) is pretty good as far as onboard sound goes. Thanks again. Also these will be used as my main headphones for Music, Video and Games.

I really recommend a dedicated pair of headphones and a dedicated mic instead of a headset, you will get much better sound quality.

What music do you listen to and what are somethings you are looking for (isolating, bassy) etc.

I'm sorry for my late response for some reason this wasn't in the subscriptions.. I listen to mostly Indie and hiphop music like: The Vaccines or Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Not really bassy.

Bump. I can also wait a few weeks and maybe grab a G35 or maybe the AD700's with a clip in mic?

Don't get the logitech.

The AD700 are very good for gaming but are very lean on the bass. But you say you only listen to music 10% of the time anyway so it doesn't matter as much. They still sound good in almost every other way.

*faceslap* I totally misread that, sorry. Yes lol.

I would think Sennheiser HD280
If you can spend slightly more I would try to find a used or refurbed beyerdynamic dt770 pro or dt990 pro on ebay or amazon.

Corsair Vengeance 1300/1500 are great choices.

The 1500 could be had for $85 after MIR from newegg.

Sure, a dedicated headphone+zalman clip on mic, if he's OK with it. The tried and true AD700/M50s + mics are not under $80.

Therefore, I recommend an all inclusive package, with decent sound.
