"stop all emails" stops Private message notification emails, option to re-enable difficult to find.

  • What happened?
Not really a bug, more of a layout design flaw
If a user selects "stop all emails" on the subscription preferences page, it also stops email notifications of Private messages. This option to enable Private message email notifications is located in "edit account details" from a user's profile page, and not in the subscription settings, making it difficult to find and re-enable if you don't know where it is, which most do not, especially since it is enabled by default.

  • Are you able to reproduce this problem consistently?
Unfortunately i did not attempt to do this as it would require me to setup all of my subscriptions again.

  • What action did you expect to occur when this bug appeared?
Private message email notifications should have a check-box on the subscription page, or a warning/info-post on the subscription page detailing where it can be re-enabled.
alternatively, using the "stop all emails" option should not disable private message notifications, as it does not disable the other user email notifications options located in "edit account details"

  • Any additional information that will help us diagnose the issue:
    Not applicaple

  • Browser, active browser addons, and operating system:
    not applicable

  • URL where the issue occurs:
    not applicable

In the footer of emails it says:  "If you want to stop receiving ALL email from us (including private message notifications)".  If you go through that, it does exactly what it says it does - it removes you from ALL emails on the site.  There is no "all emails but this one" - it's literal.

On the Subscriptions page, there is "Stop All Subscriptions Email", which also does exactly that, and won't affect your PM notifications.

I'm not sure what the confusion is, so far as I know, these are working as stated and expected.  Let me know if there's something else going on.

IIRC, i didnt use the link in the email. i believe i used the one on the subscription page. It doesn't say "stop all Subscription email", it says "Stop all Email"
