I've thinking about why a simple bios update screwed up my computer.I may be way off here but hear me out.
My system was up and running with no problems at all on the 2104.cap bios. The new 3009.cap bios said "Improves system stability" Everyone wants a more stable system, so I flashed to it.
After I flashed from 2104.cap to 3009.cap my computer would hang on the "Loading Windows" screen for a good two minutes. Also, when I would start the system from the Windows7 disk, go into Diskpart from the command prompt, and type "select drives", I'd have my existing SSD showing PLUS another SSD and all my other HDD saying "NO Media Available". Also, even after the Windows7 install, drives would ramdomly aprear under "MY Computer". This only happened if I had SATA set to "RAID" in the bios. Everything was fine when SATA was set to "AHCI".
I heard other people that also have a RAID array having similar problems after the 3009.cap flash.
Do you think that the new 3009,cap bios is trying to convert our system to a GPT setup after it spots our RAID arrays during the flash? Since, my SSD was partitioned as a MBR drive, this would cause the problems.
I tried everything to correct it and finally returned the mobo the Newegg, received a new one. Flashed to the 2104.cap and reinstalled. The system is operation perfectlly again.
