This always happens when I have a game minimized and I watch a youtube or any flash video at the same time.It happens in a few seconds and the game hangs and I have to quit it using the task manager.Have other people using amd drivers and video cards experienced this issue?Im sick of it, I dont know if it is a windows problem or just amd's drivers downclocking the gpu while I minimize the game Im playing.Need help asap. Thanks!

There are a lot of causes for this. Is it on a certain game or everything?

I've had it in the past too and I just skipped that version of drivers to get rid of the problem. When I was on two 5850's it seems that I could only use every other driver release most of the time. I wouldn't have it on every game though. So I might use the newest for a while and then revert for a game that didn't like them.

I've also seen that slightly unstable overclocks can cause this...you might need to back down a hair.

Overheating and under powering probably cause it the most though...but you "shouldn't" have those issues.

I think it's a combination of the two,

If I were you i'd download furmark and run the Multi-GPU client to stress your cards properly. If that's fine isn't there a way you can lock the card to it's 3d clocks?

Im sure its related to the UMD dll crashing explorer in some instances, as watching video also uses the UMD. Try replace the atiumd.dll with the one from 12.8.

It happens to me when overclocking on default voltages on some games. When I open AB and set core voltage to 1200 everything is fine but same settings on default voltage gpu intense games hang (Project Cars)

oh I forgot to mention, everything is stock with 12.5 drivers:P. Im still watercooling my setup but everything is set to stock clocks as four months ago I was having big issues with overclocking.Havent bothered overclocking it again as I dont play gpu intensive games as much.
Ill try the latest amd drivers and hope they work.

Isn't Catalyst 12.5 a beta driver? Seriously, update to the latest drivers. Beta will probably do you fine, but you may have to step back to the latest stable release. Either one will be an improvement over 12.5 though.
