Im not, im comparing the overclocking potential of card A with locked volts vs card B with unlocked voltage. I never said anything about the way that they scale.

3dm11 wr is held by Kingpin with a 2ghz core 680, but that takes a level of skill, binning and hard modding that is beyond the grasp of most mortals, let alone gamers looking for the best card.

haha yea takes some insane work to hit those clocks and with amds new drivers who knows kingpin might break his own record with a 7970 i dont put alot of weight in those type of overclocks cause its not somthing your going to do for gaming or general use the cards are usualy trashed after sending that much voltage thru them.

I wonder how many cards it took him to get there? One can tweak th heck out of either th 680 or 7970 for that matter.
