A couple questions for ya though since I noticed thats what you have. Should I stick with the 1404 BIOS if thats what comes on it instead of the whole conversion process? Also is VRM heat an issue? I dont have a water block for it and probably wont be able to instal one because I dont want to use the bitspower crystal link stuff and tubing would be way too tight.
p.s. Thanks for checking in on it!

1404 is good, the latest one just boots faster and they say it has better memory compatibility (I think).
I don't notice any difference other than boot times, won't affect OC. Just use 1404 cause it's easier =P
VRM heat is an issue at high overclocks, definitely. Up to 4.7, 4.8 it should be okay but any higher you would definitely need an active fan on it at the bare minimum.
I'm using the power friendly VRM options so it always switches to the coolest VRM's but I'm not sure how big of a difference that makes.
Try not to drool over the R4E, it's one sexy board! [edit] I literally drooled over mine when I first got it, DERP
